March 28, 2007 -- As the 2007
fall football season draws near, the Oberlin football
program is pleased to announce its stellar incoming
recruiting class. Each month until the beginning of
the season, the Oberlin athletics web site will take
a look at several high school senior football players
who have committed to become a member of the Oberlin
football team's class of 2011. For this month's inaugural
edition, we are proud to introduce future Yeomen Austin
Richards and Chris Pottmeyer.

Austin
Richards |
Hometown: Commerce Township, Mich.
High School: Walled Lake Northern
Positions: Linebacker, Long/Short Snapper
Height: 6'2"
Weight: 185

Why Oberlin? "I chose Oberlin because
from the start of the recruiting process, [Associate
Head Coach] Andy Stillman gave me an awesome presentation
of the school. When I first stepped foot onto Oberlin
territory, I felt at home. When I left the visitation,
I had nothing negative at all to say about the school
and that was when I knew that I was going to be spending
the next four years of my life as a Yeoman at Oberlin
College."
Head Coach Jeff Ramsey: "We
look forward to coaching Austin's ability. He brings
intensity to our defense, and he will have a bright
future here at Oberlin College."

will be a great addition to our offensive line. We
look forward to coaching Chris over the next four years
as he brings a wealth of talent and intensity to an
already established offensive line. Chris will be a

the future holds for him."
