-- The Oberlin field hockey team got back on the winning track tonight by defeating Ohio Wesleyan in Delaware, Ohio, 1-0. The Yeowomen improved to 4-7 overall and 3-2 in the North Coast Athletic Conference with the win. The host Battling Bishops dropped to 6-4 overall and 3-3 in league play.
The Yeowomen's lone goal and game-winner came off the stick of Ashley Allen. The senior scored 40:47 into the game off a quick unassisted shot from the right side.
Oberlin controlled the entire contest, out-shooting Ohio Wesleyan 18-5 and winning the penalty corner advantage, 12-5. Senior Lauren Malinowski had two saves for the Yeowomen.
Head Coach Deb Ranieri's squad will play next on Saturday when they visit Denison University at 6:00 p.m.
