-- The Oberlin field hockey team led visiting DePauw University 2-1 late in the second half, but the Tigers rallied for a second-half goal and overtime score to defeat the Yeowomen, 3-2. Oberlin slipped to 3-6 with the loss, while DePauw improved to 4-4.
Senior Christine Politis had a great game for Oberlin today, as she boasted two assists and a defensive save. Scoring goals for the Yeowomen were Ashley Allen and Taylor Rogers. Senior goalkeeper Lauren Malinowski had seven saves and faced 15 shots by the Tigers. Oberlin had 13 shots on the day and six penalty corners, compared to seven corners for the visitors.
The Tigers were led in the win by Ashley Fehr, who recorded a hat trick by scoring all three of her team's goals.
Oberlin will now hit the road for its next four contests, the first of which will be at Washington and Jefferson College on September 26. The contest against the Presidents will be played under the lights in Washington, Pa., at 7:00 p.m.
