February 26 – Oberlin College student-athletes Joanna Johnson, Marie Barnett, Nicky Ouellet and Conor Doss were named to the USTFCCCA Cross Country All-Academic Team yesterday afternoon.
“This is obviously a great honor for these student-athletes and our institution,” head coach Ray Appenheimer said. “I am so proud of the way these athletes and all of our athletes represent our program and the College as a whole.”
Johnson, a first-year student from Chico, Calif., was the 2007 NCAC Cross Country Champion as she completed the 6K course in 22:48 – earning NCAC Runner of the Year and NCAC Newcomer of the Year honors.

Barnett, a senior from Acton, Mass., also played a large role in the Yeowomen’s second-place finish at the NCAC Championships as she ended in 10th place with a mark of 23:30.
A double major in art and psychology, Barnett has accumulated a 3.64 GPA during her tenure at Oberlin.
Ouellet followed Barnett in 11th place at the NCAC meet – clocking in four seconds back at 23:34. The junior from Dunbarton, N.H. is also a double major at Oberlin with a 3.66 GPA in English and Russian.
Doss was the top finisher for the men at the conference championship meet as he earned All-NCAC recognition after touching the tape in 20th place by completing the 8K course in 27:00.
