March 18 – Due to the continuation of wet weather in the Northeast Ohio area, the Oberlin College softball game against Thiel College on Wednesday and the OC baseball game at Lake Erie College today have both been canceled.
The Yeowomen were slated to play their home opener tomorrow afternoon against Thiel, but Mother Nature had another idea in mind. Oberlin will now wait till the weekend when it travels to Fort Myers, Fla. to play in the Gene Cusic Classic. The Yeowomen will play 10 games during the week, before returning home to host Franciscan on March 29 at 2 p.m.
The Yeomen were supposed to have one final tune-up before their spring-break trip to Phoenix, Ariz. as they were scheduled to take on Lake Erie College today.
Oberlin will play nine games during the week out west, before opening up its conference season on March 29 with a doubleheader at Hiram College.
Head Coach Eric Lahetta also announced that last Saturday’s games that got rained out against Thiel College in Maryville, Tenn. will be made up on May 5 with a 2 p.m. doubleheader at Oberlin.
