March 24 – Sophomore pitcher Jack Dunn carried Oberlin to its first win of the season on Saturday and today was rewarded by being named the North Coast Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week, the league office announced on Monday evening.
Dunn, a left-handed hurler from Lake Havasu, Ariz., fanned a career-high 13 batters, including seven straight from the third inning through the first out of the fifth, to lead the Yeomen to a 9-2 victory over Lawrence. He scattered four hits and allowed just one run in six innings of work on the hill.
Dunn is no stranger to NCAC accolades as he was first-team league selection last season after posting a 6-6 record and a very impressive 2.52 ERA in his first season in the crimson and gold.
Dunn and the rest of the Yeomen will continue their spring break trip with a split doubleheader against Elmhurst and Middlebury.
