-- Senior field hockey standout Kaitlin Barrer and first-year women's soccer player Lois Immerman were both named the North Coast Athletic Conference's Players of the Week in their respective sports. Barrer had an outstanding game in her final regular season contest at Oberlin, while Immerman stood out in the Yeowomen's win over Hiram College.
Barrer (Ann Arbor, Mich./Pioneer) has started in all 18 of the Oberlin field hockey team's games this season. She scored both of the Yeowomen's goals in an exciting 2-1 win over visiting Denison this past Saturday. The win helped Oberlin reach the NCAC playoffs. Barrer and the Yeowomen will travel to Wittenberg on Wednesday for the semifinal contest in Springfield, Ohio.
Immerman, a first-year midfielder from Elmira, N.Y. (Horsehead High School), scored the game-winner in Oberlin's thrilling 1-0 overtime win over Hiram College on Saturday. The win was the Yeowomen's first NCAC win of the 2007 campaign. She finished the season second on the team in goals scored.
