Jenny Scott Named Assistant Swimming and Diving Coach

July 24, 2006 -- Jenny Scott, a 2006 graduate of Washington University (Mo.), was recently named Oberlin College's new assistant swimming and diving coach. She will begin her duties on August 1.

Scott brings a wealth of swimming experience to the Oberlin College Department of Athletics and Physical Education and Head Coach Mark Fino's swimming and diving program. A 13-time All-American and 12-time NCAA Division III Swimming Honorable Mention All-American, Scott finished runner-up in the 500-yard freestyle at the 2006 NCAA Championships.

An Academic All-American after the 2004-2005 season, Scott captained the Bears during her senior year and earned four varsity letters. She was selected as the University Athletic Association's Female Swimmer of the Year in 2003-2004 and was also tabbed as Washington University's Female Sophomore Athlete of the Year during the same season. After her senior campaign, Scott was selected as Washington's Female Senior Athlete of the Year.

While earning a bachelor of arts in psychology from Washington, Scott worked with a number of different swim organizations. She served as an assistant swim coach for the City of Fenton (Mo.) in the summers of 2003, 2004 and 2005, supervising a team of over 150 children. Additionally, she helped coach over 250 children at the City of Crestwood (Mo.) this past summer.
