Facilities

Strength Training and
Cardiovascular Equipment

The fitness center consists of a variety of cardio equipment—Air Dyne bikes, Precor Elliptical, rowing machines, Stairmaster steppers and Woodway treadmills—in the second floor South Atrium. The second floor Weight Rooms contain Hammer Strength, Cybex selectorized and Universal weight training machines, as well as free weights. Also available are a heavy bag and speed bags and room for stretching.

Weight room monitors are on duty to enforce all rules and prevent misuse of the equipment. Monitors are NOT instructors, and are not authorized to give instruction on the equipment.

Use of weights and/or exercise machines is at the Member’s own risk. Due to potential safety and liability risks, no children under the age of 14 may use any of the exercise equipment.

The pool consists of six 25-yard-long lanes, plus a diving well with 1 and 3 meter spring-boards. It may be entered through both the men’s and women’s locker rooms.

Indoor Track

The indoor track, located in the John W. Heisman Club Field House and bordering the four indoor tennis courts, is 200 meters long, and is for running and walking. Seven laps in the outside lane equals one mile

Climbing Wall

Designed by NICROS, the Wall is a 25-foot tall four-sided pillar with seven anchors for top-roping. On the steepest wall, there are quick-draws for two or more lead climbing routes as well.

The bouldering cave where one can climb to a maximum height of ten feet without a belay rope provides an additional square feet for problem solving.

Main Gym

The Main Gym is used primarily for intercollegiate volleyball and basketball training and competition. During the summer months, various camps use both the main and west gyms.

  West Gym

The West (non-varsity) Gym is truly a multi-purpose gymnasium, often open for pick-up basketball during regular building hours although it is also used for physical education classes, intercollegiate basketball practice, intramural sports and other programs. Volleyball, badminton or pickleball nets can be set-up on a first-come, first-served basis.
