OVERVIEW
Oberlin's men's and women's bowling teams compete against other regional schools in the American Heartland Intercollegiate Bowling Conference (September through February), as well as one other out-of-town tournament each semester. We also host the Oberlin Unconventional each April.
Team practices on Monday and Thursday afternoons incorporate discussions of team business, skill development drills and mini-competitions (including pre-tournament qualifiers to determine which of the thirty-plus team members will travel to intercollegiate events).
The Intercollegiate Bowling Team is a student organization that operates as a club sport. The Student Finance Committee allocates funds for entry fees and travel expenses.
Five weekly intramural leagues, frequent intramural tournaments, and several community leagues that bowl at the campus center complement intercollegiate bowling at Oberlin. Students may earn academic credit for taking beginning and advanced bowling classes offered through the Department of Athletics and Physical Education.
