Nathan Gunn has gained a reputation as one of the most exciting young baritones of the day. The 1994 winner of the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions, he has sung with major opera companies in Paris, London, and New York; graced movie screens across the United States in the Metropolitan Opera’s simulcasts; and earned rave reviews for his Broadway triumph in Camelot. In the more intimate genre of art song, Gunn’s refreshing recordings of American music, from folk songs to Ives, show the baritone once again at home in a wide variety of repertoire. His wife and collaborator, Julie Gunn, joins him on piano in this concert.

Program to be announced.

“Mr. Gunn is a lyric baritone with a warm , resonant voice. … [He] represents a new generation of college-trained American vocal artists: top-notch musicians who both sing with honesty and are adventurous actors. …”
