Approximately 10 international and area studies

Endowment for the Humanities – Summer Stipends
Supports individuals pursuing
advanced research that contributes to scholarly knowledge or to the public's
understanding of the humanities for two consecutive summer months of study and
research. Individuals who have held a major fellowship or research grant or its
equivalent within the last three academic years prior to the deadline are
ineligible. A "major fellowship or research grant" is a postdoctoral
research award that provides a stipend of at least $10,000. Sabbaticals and
grants from an individual's own institution and stipends and grants from other
sources supporting study and research during the summer are not considered
major fellowships. Nomination
by institution is required – faculty should submit draft proposals
following the summer stipend guidelines to the Office of Sponsored Programs
no later than 5:00pm Monday, September 19, 2005. Following

House Historical Association – Research Fellowship Grants
1 to 6 month fellowships are available
for scholars to defray the costs of travel. Grants are to encourage new
projects that make use of records pertinent to the president, first family, and
subordinates while the president lives in the White House. The focus of the research should be the
White House, including life and work there, as well as the physical structure.
