¯     Association for Women in Mathematics – Travel Grants for Women

Grants provide full or partial support for travel and subsistence for a meeting or conference in the applicant's field of specialization.  Funds are provided by the Division of Mathematical Sciences of NSF and the research conference must be in an area supported by DMS.

¯     Association for Women in Mathematics  - Mentoring Travel Grants for Women

Grants help junior women to develop a long-term working and mentoring relationship with a senior mathematician. This relationship should help the junior mathematician to establish her research program and eventually receive tenure. Funds are provided by the Division of Mathematical Sciences of NSF and the research conference must be in an area supported by DMS.

¯     Beinecke Rare Book & Manuscript Library at Yale University – Visiting Fellowships

The Library offers short-term fellowships to support visiting scholars pursuing post-doctoral or equivalent research in its collections.  The Beinecke Library is Yale UniversityÕs principal repository for literary papers, and for early manuscripts and rare books in the fields of literature, theology, history, and the natural sciences.

Post-doctoral fellowships awarded for one year to researchers and scholars who are members of minority groups including Alaska Native, Black/African American, Mexican American/Chicanas/Chicanos, Native American Indians, Native Pacific Islanders, or Puerto Ricans.  Eligible fields include: Archaeology, Anthropology, Art History, Astronomy, Chemistry, Communications, Computer Science, Earth Sciences, Economics, Education, Engineering, Ethnomusicology, Geography, History, International Relations, Life Sciences, Linguistics, Literature, Language, Mathematics, Performance Study, Philosophy, Physics, Political Science, Psychology, Religion, Sociology, and Urban Planning.  Awards will not be made in practice-based professions such as medicine, law, social work, fine art, performing arts, etc.

¯     Izaak Walton Killam Postdoctoral Fellowships – Dalehouse University

¯     Michigan Society of Fellows

3-year fellowships in the arts, humanities, social sciences and natural sciences.  Candidates must have received the Ph.D. or comparable professional or artistic final degree between 6/1/03 and 10/1/06.  Fellows are expected to be in residence during the academic years of the fellowship and teach the equivalent of one academic year.

¯     National Geographic Society – Research Grants

Awards grants for exploration and scientific field research.  All proposed projects must have a geographical dimension and relevance to other scientific fields.  Applications are generally limited to the following disciplines: anthropology, archaeology, astronomy, biology, botany, geography, geology, oceanography, paleontology, and zoology.  Applications must be submitted at least 10 months prior to start of project.

¯     Sloan Foundation – Research Fellowships

Awards are intended to enhance the careers of the very best young faculty members in specified fields of science.  Fellowships are awarded annually in seven fields: chemistry, computer science, economics, mathematics, neuroscience, physics, and relevant fields in the biological sciences or in a related interdisciplinary field. Candidates must be nominated by department heads or other senior researchers. Direct applications are not accepted.

¯     Waksman Foundation for Microbiology – Support for Educational Activities

Funds are for the support activities in this field that are poorly supported by the usual government agencies.
