The cover drawing depicts the Oberlin Stone Age, which lasted for
a quarter-century after 1885. Included in the montage is the tower
of the College Chapel, tower of Council Hall, tower of Talcott Hall,
entry of Spear Library (later, Spear Laboratory), tower and entry
of Baldwin Cottage, tower of Warner Hall, and tower and entry of
Peters Hall.
The artist is Herbert Fairchild Steven, an 1890s student who studied
art.
