Calendar and Index of Supplementary Letters for 1872, 1873, 1874

This online guide to the James Monroe Letters includes a Chronology and an Index for the main body of letters (1841-1898), and a Calendar and Index for Supplementary letters (1872-1874). The Chronology, which is a dated description of Monroe's life as recorded in the letters, has been divided into 2 parts: 1841-1872 and 1873-1898. The main Index is an alphabetical listing of his letters, arranged by author. Finally, the Supplement (1872-1874) to the main Index contains an Introduction, Alphabetical Index, and a Calendar. The Alphabetical Index lists the letters by author and date, and the Calendar is a chronological listing of each letter, the author, and a brief desciption of the letter's contents.
