Scope and Content

The Thomas G.M. Simchak Papers document his interest in photography and his participation in political and social events. The collection consists of color photographs (approximately 931 prints) and two (2) CD-Roms containing additional photographs. Thomas Simchak (Oberlin College Class of 2003) photographed these images during his student days at Oberlin, 1999-2003. The photographs depict events in Oberlin (i.e., the Big Parade, 2002, Commencement 2003, protests and demonstrations); Outing Club Trips, 1999-2000; OhioPIRG events, 1999-2000; Oberlin College Campus buildings and views (i.e., Mudd Center, Tappan Square); and, off campus events (i.e., IMF/World Bank Protest, 16 April 2000, Anti-War March in Washington, D.C., January 18, 2003).

Also included are two (2) compact disks containing additional photographs (some also in the print collection) of Oberlin and other sites (i.e., Big Parade 2002, Cleveland Anti-War March, and February 15, 2003), and photographs of the Adam J. Lewis Center for Environmental Studies.
