Scope and Content

The Dale Broadhurst Papers consist of materials relating to his research concerning the Solomon Spaulding manuscript and its relationship to the Book of Mormon. Documents include transcriptions of the Spaulding Manuscript and comparative textual studies of its contents. Also included are three computer diskettes containing computer copies of included documents and a CD-ROM about the Spaulding manuscript and the Book of Mormon produced in part by Broadhurst. Also included is a copy of the book Who Really Wrote the Book of Mormon?: The Spalding Enigma (2005).

Please note that the documents of this collection use two spelling variations of the name Spaulding—Spaulding and Spalding.

Researchers are permitted to view the collection, but photocopies are not permitted.

Provenance

The papers of Dale Broadhurst were donated to the Oberlin College Archives by Broadhurst in four installments. The first was received in 1981, the second in January 1998, the third in September 2000, and the last installment in June 2005..
