Bibliotheca Sacra Announcement, 1884
Announcement of the purchase and move to Oberlin of the theological
publication Bibliotheca Sacra, edited by G. F. Wright. This
announcement, sent by G.W.
Shurtleff, W.G. Frost, and J. M. Ellis on behalf of the Faculty, is addressed
to "Alumni
and Former Students" and urges them aid by College by soliciting new
subscriptions. (2 copies) [Acc. 2001/94]
Bucher, Vincent: "Solomon Scroll," ca. 1928-31
Scroll by Vincent W. Bucher, a 1932 graduate of the Graduate
School of Theology, entitled, "Real Solomon." Presumably
done for a class of Kemper Fullerton. Fullerton's comments
also included, with an explanatory note by Bucher.

Chow, Lily Shen, 1999
"The 120th Anniversary Album (115 pages) of Shanghai Symphony Orchestra
(1879-1999)," Consists of photographs with captions in Chinese
and English. The album contains photographs Wen Tan; one of the
musicians that Lily Shen Chow
(enr. 1920-21) mentored.
Distinguished Service Medal, 1933
Copy of the Alumni Association's Distinguished Service Medal,
with John Frederick Oberlin on the obverse and Oberlin's church
in Waldersbach on the reverse.
An accompanying letter (dated 25 August 1933) written to Marie-Jeane
Lahaurine-Johnston (director of Oberlin's Maison Française) discusses the loan of this
medal to the Musée de la Coopération Franco-Américaine
in Blérancourt for use in an exhibit on Franco-American friendship in
1933; also includes a brochure about Blérancourt and an exhibit
program. Also found here is a 21 September 1932 letter, with a pamphlet
about the University
of Strasbourg, relating to the gift of a copy of the medal to the university.
These letters and all but one of the pamphlets are written in French.

Doolittle, Charles P., ca. 1900
Charles P. Doolittle's "Introduction to the Course in Modulation" (7" x
9 1/2"; 10 pp.) Given to O.C. Library in 1955 by Mrs. Laura
Wright Breese. Laura Wright was enrolled in Con., Art., 1897-1902.
She took
Mr. Doolittle's
course in the Conservatory of Music but failed to hand back this
introduction. [Acc. 1983/13]
Foster, Dr. Frank Hugh, 1967
Report by the Intermuseum Laboratory describing treatment performed
on a painting of Frank Hugh Foster, Professor of Church History
at Oberlin
Graduate
School
of Theology, 1884-1892. The painting, by J. Deviney, hung in Bosworth Hall.

Hudson, Timothy B., 1858 Oversize Box 1
Two memorials to Timothy Hudson, enrolled in the collegiate course
from 1834-35, Professor of Latin and Greek (1835-58) and member
of the Prudential
Committee
(1849-50), who died April 1, 1858. Diplomas included for Hudson and for

Missionaries in Micronesia: notes by anonymous writer, 1851-1900
Hand-written notes giving the names of several missionaries and
their locations in Micronesia. Unsigned.

Proposals for a Natural History Building, 1890
Contains two manuscripts, one in Professor Albert Allen Wright's
hand, entitled, "Barber
Hall of Natural History;" the other in an unknown hand and entitled, "The
Need of a New Natural History Building," October 1890. Includes a photocopy
of an article appearing in the Oberlin Review for November 24, 1897, "New
Buildings for Oberlin."

This Oberlin College receipt for one bundle sent to Medina,
Ohio by the United States Express Company contains a one
cent revenue
stamp.
It was
received
from George Zatroch via the Oberlin College President’s
Office.

concerns the final evaluation and Rubinstein’s reflections concerning
