This circular, signed by John Keep and Henry Cowles, was used
by College Treasurer Hamilton Hill on his 1862-63 visit to England
to solicit
donations to the College.
The circular describes Oberlin College and its students, and emphasizes
the college's history of admitting students irregardless of color.

Handbill announcing the release of the Oberlin-Wellington rescuers
from jail, and plans for a public reception, July 6, 1859. [acc.

"The White Students of Oberlin Demand a Statement of Policy..." 1937
Complete title is "The White Students of Oberlin Demand a Statement of
Policy from the Adminsitration on the Exact Status of the Colored Student on
the Campus." This circular challenged the college administration's
practice of discouraging socializing between white and black students.

here is a clipping from the 17 December 1937 Oberlin News-Tribune
naming Oberlin
students George Maxwell, Elbert Sisson, and William Smith, as the
