Series 1. Printed Publication Issues (40.39 l.f.)

This series contains two nearly complete sets of each student publication, in an archival set and a duplicate set. The archival set contains some issues not held in the duplicate set. The publications are arranged in alphabetical order except for those in oversize formats.

Series 2. Microfilmed Printed Issues (0.4 l.f.)

A limited number of issues from 15 student publication titles are available as microfilmed copies in this series.

Series 3. Records of Student Publications (0.4 l.f.)

This series contains documents pertaining to the student publications, such as charters, correspondence, historical information, officer lists, and original submissions. Not all titles have material in this series.

Previous to February 2010, student publications were held in three locations at Oberlin College: Archives, Special Collections, and library open stacks. With the incorporation of the Archives as a department within the Library in 2008, projects to eliminate duplication were initiated. Student assistant Daniella Polyak inventoried student publications throughout the library and assembled two nearly complete sets of print issues for arrangement and administration by Archives. (The Library will continue to provide current issues of continuing student publications on the main level in Azariah’s Café.) Materials pertaining to student publications in Series 3 were previously interfiled with print issues in Archives. In July 2010 these were pulled and arranged by title in a separate series.
