Oberlin College Archives

Once an Oberlin College Commencement tradition, the position of Female Class President was ceremoniously passed via the Daisy Chain from the graduating Senior to the elected Junior President. The 300-foot-long chain was made with daisies picked by Junior men, and strung together by Junior women. The procession passed through Peters Hall and ended at the Memorial Arch. [Editorial Note: Please note the uniformity of dress.]
