One
of almost fifteen hundred Oberlin men and women to serve
in World War I, David
W. Anthony (d. 1983) spent two years as a lieutenant
in the U.S. Army in France, where this photograph was
taken in 1918. Anthony, a member of the class of 1916,
later earned an M.D. from Howard University Medical School.
