BENJAMIN FOLTZ

(PAPERS, 1845-79)

SCOPE AND CONTENT

The papers consist of information about Foltz and the establishment of the tract fund, a brief diary (1834-35), notes, memoranda and printed letters (from newspapers) and verse.

PROVENANCE:

The papers and a photograph were given to Oberlin College in 1937 by Ernest H. Foltz, a grandson. [See Oberlin Alumni Magazine, Jan. - Feb., 1937, p.3] The Archives received these materials in 1977 from the library.

Note: Entry taken from William E. Bigglestone's unpublished "[preliminary] Guide to the Oberlin College Archives," which was prepared as individual entry sheets in a three-ring binder during the early 1980s.
