THE STIMULUS PACKAGE – and OBERLIN COLLEGE
Did you notice a change?
Did some of you notice an increase in the amount of your take home pay in your March check?
The change is due to the stimulus package passed in Washington. The tax credit is worth up to $400 a year for employees filing single and up to $800 for employees filing joint returns. The amount an employee will get is based on adjusted gross income with a maximum income of $95,000 for singles and a combined income of $190,000 for married couples. Employees are not eligible for the credit if they can be claimed as a dependent on someone else’s tax return.
Note:
Employees who have more than one job may be getting more credit than they are entitled to receive. If working two or more jobs, the employee may be getting the credit from both or all employers. This will result in paying back the over payment when filing 2009 taxes. This also applies to married couples if both parties are receiving the maximum for married couples. Please consult your tax advisor about any necessary change to your W-4.

GENERAL BENEFITS
INFORMATION
CIGNA is introducing new Explanation of Benefits (EOB)
Cigna will be rolling out later this year a simplified EOB statement to employees when a medical claim is processed. The new EOBs will start showing up sometime in October. Some of the changes include:
-- All key information summarized on the first page.
-- Information that is redundant or not directly related to the claim will be removed, reducing clutter.
-- Individuals receiving more care will be able to easily identify one claim from another as each has its own summary page.
-- Enhanced viewing of EOBs on MyCIGNA.com.
-- Given the option to cease paper EOBs.

Dependents:
It is your responsibility to inform us within 30 days of your child's
19th birthday, graduation from college and/or their 23rd birthday and
when they are no longer a full-time student. If you do not, the College
may not be able to offer COBRA coverage and you may be held responsible
for all medical claims from the date the dependent would have been terminated
from the health plan.
You are able
to get your pharmacy, medical, mental health and pre-certification questions
answered by calling Cigna at 800-CIGNA24 (800-244-6224).
