There is no better
time to lend your support to Oberlin than now, and no better way to do
it than with your gift to The 1835 Fund.
In seeking your support for
The 1835
Fund, we ask you to support goals like:
- Helping provide essential scholarship support
for students of African ancestry;
- Raising the funds necessary to endow a faculty chair in African-American
Studies;
- Providing financial support to help distinguished alumni return
to Oberlin for academic presentations, concerts and cultural events; and
- Creating
the first $1,000,000 fund to support students and faculty of African ancestry.
The 1835 Fund is a new effort to acknowledge all
facets of the African ancestry experience at Oberlin College; money raised
will be allocated
to different areas under the guidance of a steering committee including
College and Conservatory deans and the leadership of the Oberlin Alumni
Association of African Ancestry (OAAAA). We seek to build upon Oberlin's
pioneering legacy of educational excellence for all students and support
an effort that will make a direct difference for the African ancestry
community on campus, providing resources for scholarship and cultural
enrichment. Join us in supporting Oberlin.
