Weekend events, also at 8 p.m., will include Conservatory student musicians and composers performing new classical and electronic music on Friday, February 28; the Oberlin hip-hop dance troupe And What?! performing with spoken word poets and DJs from Oberlin and Cleveland Saturday, March 1; a performance night featuring comedy troupes, theater, dance and performance art Friday, March 7; and a student film screening Saturday, March 8.

Also on March 8th--from 2-4:30 p.m.--the Oberlin students will host a Free For All Ages public workshop at the gallery that will include puppet and mobile-making stations. Demonstrations will also offer gallery visitors insights into their favorite mediums.

While in Cleveland, the student artists will provide outreach on weekdays by conducting workshops at the gallery in video production, poster design, and comic art for area groups, including Oberlin and Collinwood High Schools.

Andrea Fritsch’03, Convergence co-curator and high school workshop coordinator, says: "The outreach is an exciting opportunity for high school art students, allowing them the opportunity to expand their art skills, interact with the semiprofessional art world, and discuss after high-school art options with students who have gone on to study art in college. Many of us had similar experiences in high school and know what an impact they can have on artistically inclined students."
